To be healthy, you should take care of your body. But often this is not enough, because mental health is also part of your general well-being. You can be physically healthy, but mentally harmful. Your happiness therefore depends to a large extent on your mental health. So here are some tips to help you take better care of your mental hygiene on a daily basis.
Take care of your mind
Just like your body, your mind also needs a healthy diet, and that includes
– Managing your stress: there is no miracle cure for stress. It requires a few essential practices such as: adopting positive thinking, prioritising, taking regular breaks during work, using relaxation methods (meditation, sophrology, yoga…);
– Making time for yourself: simply do the things that give you pleasure when you feel like it;
– Being at peace with yourself: this aspect takes into account the development of your self-esteem, the recognition of your emotions by understanding and accepting them;
– Spending time with your loved ones: you always feel good in the company of people you love. Don’t hesitate to ask for their support when needed.
Be in the moment
We often undermine our mental health by not being fully in the moment. Indeed, most of us are never satisfied with what we have, we always want more like a spoiled child. We spend more time rehashing our past, which can obviously lead to frustration, which will pollute the present moment. To live better in the present, you should cultivate gratitude, that is to say, be grateful for everything you have and everything that happens to you. This attitude allows you to appreciate everything in your life, so you will be able to maintain your mental hygiene. Experience has shown that when we worry too much about the future, we can’t enjoy the present moment and we are always worried. It is therefore very important to integrate your being in the present moment.
